Well although I feel people are undermining Taylor's success I don't feel Taylor helped resurge country to become mainstream again it was already in the rise starting with Carrie Underwood who was far bigger than Taylor at the time went 7x times platinum and had several top 10 hits including a number one.

Taylor did later on help country to get new audiences and went on to surpass Carrie but she didn't start the resurgence.

SH was released 3 years earlier than Fearless (Taylor's country peak) and it's not behind by many copies.

Carrie's success was impressive but she didn't have pop music's attention nearly as much as Taylor. Love Story followed by YBWM was so big.

Taylor has effortlessly surpassed Britney. She is 24 years old, breaking records with her 5th era (following 4 megasuccessful eras), sitting on 7 Grammys incl one for AOTY, going from strength to strength. She is unstoppable. It's not up for debate.
