i blame the internet and social media
all those 90s acts had their fair share of problems but they weren't so accessible as things are now...that's the only possible reason i could think of
i don't buy the entire "people don't make real music anymore"...sorry Beyonce

Madonna - Papa Dont Preach : 11 million views
Why does no one care about 'THE QUEN OF POOP!!" like atrl stans say everyone does?
Madonna has some great music but I think her staple for pop culture and reinvention and simply staying alive was what cemented her as "The Queen of Pop." She has several songs worth the title but I think people instinctively think of her personas instead of the music.
It's such a goddamn shame that "Material Girl" and "Like A Virgin" are her most remembered songs.

Ironically, I think the rise in internet and social media is what propelled so many in the 90s - but there is so much more now that it cannot even be compared. It's started to hurt rather than thrive.
Are there any lists over what music videos are the most viewed by decade? Would be interesting.
