Ya the entire rhetoric of the front-loaded shade is beyond inconsequential. It's merely a way for them to look at the statistics which are on their own very impressive and find a way to say that they are not.
As you said, if you front load your entire era in the matter of a minute, you're going to have front loaded sales.
I really think that if Beyoncé had just surprise released the album but with XO and Drunk in Love videos as part of the first release, and then released another 2 videos every month, that the sales would be more "long". There are plenty of other scenarios where that would be the case too but we can't change anything and changing that would result in an era that had less of the statement she wanted to make. It's perfect as is.
