She was in movies and commercials throughout the '80s and '90s and was a model. Not to mention, she was an executive producer on a lot of her music and movies, as well.

Whitney's biggest downfall was not writing her music (she has writing credits on a few songs), and of course, her fall from grace due to her drug issues. But Whitney was indeed looking for wealth and very business savvy.
