I do often wonder about certain mental illnesses sometimes though, and whether they're just a creation of the first world press.
Like ADHD, and all the - phobias.
You never hear people from developing countries screaming "I have a split personality!" or w/e. Which isn't the best comparison but still...

There's no 100% right or wrong answer for medicating mental health. A good friend of mine was diagnosed bipolar and then felt like absolute **** on the medication for it. But that's not true for everyone. Case-by-case basis.

I agree with this. I don't think it makes someone weak if they use medication for mental illness but I don't think meds should be the first resort.
