Both original and the remix have great elements to them. The original is really good and I generally like its structure better (more complete chorus than on the remix - that chorus is just the bridge from the original). What I like about the remix is the hard hitting beat and her vocals are (or sound) a bit more aggressive and instant on the remix, especially on the second verse.

Well one copy is the standard deluxe which came with a poster and other stuff (I got it from her website) and the other copy is the target deluxe

Such masterpiece should not be touched and the remix seemed lazy from what I can remember. As this list of remixes show, Mariah usually changes it up a lot on remixes. That mix of The Roof was basic in comparison. Correct me if I'm wrong I'm never wrong.

It was/is a B-side. It's the B-side to "Always Be My Baby"(ironically enough )

I wouldn't say that at all considering that was the original artists (Mobb Deep) on that remix, from which "The Roof" was sampled from their song "The Shook Ones"

The Honey Classic mix is great. With dance mixes I use Dreamlover and Heartbreaker the most. The VOCALS on the Fantasy mix though

I love how Dreamlover/Do You Think of Me and ABMB/Slipping Away are antitheses of each other, or at least near antitheses. It makes her discog feel so complete. And also makes you wonder about the rest of her unreleased catalog and whether she recorded more responses to songs we already know.

I still feel that the remix of The Roof is kinda basic compared to her other remixes from that time period. There are clear differences from the original but still. Fantasy and its remix are very different from each other. ABYM, Heartbreaker and TGIFY are vastly different from their respective remixes. Not that it automatically takes away from the remix but the others seem more polished to me.



Still a great tune nonetheless.

I feel like Can't Take That Away would be more of a classic gem if Mariah wasn't off in Capri drinking splashes and burning all her bras during the Rainbow recording period...baby girl wasn't taking care of them lumps on her vocal cords cuz she was focused on her lovely lady lumps instead.
