Obviously the media training that told her to say "glamour" and "retro" and "glitter" in all of her interviews forgot to tell her to mind her mouth.
Sure she'd like to think that she is a true artist and original, but she's a Billboard topper now. The industry is going to like her one way or another. Slagging people off and then touting yourself as superior is a rude and childish thing to do. If the Xtina incident had not have happened, she'd be much less; her single took ages to move up the charts.
Not that I don't like her; contrarily, I imported her CD from Canada back in August. But the image that she is some indie, New York, "beautiful, dirty" person" is also very calculated. The costumes and everything she wears is part of an image, an ideal. Some of those artists come from lower economic backgrounds or possibilities. Jordin Sparks was recording and performing before AI. Kelly Clarkson was single and doing a lot of things on her own. Sometimes a reality show is the only chance for exposure these people get.
What does she have to say Nicole from PCD, the group she wrote songs for? Nicole was on
Popstars, then the group had moderate, immediate success. The group broke and Nicole had to hustle to get into singing gigs, and ultimately, PCD. Just because you come from TV doesn't mean you're untalented. It means that a mass amount of people get to see the real you and help you win based on talent and personality.
That was a really rude and unnecessary comment.
