Beyoncé and the Hive calling her "King B" doesn't sit that well with me either. I don't see why you'd want to take a male title to feel empowered, unless you really see men as superior. There have been many powerful female rulers throughout history, many of whom also reclaimed iconography of male leadership, but also transformed it into something of their own.

I dunno, B goes by both Queen B and King B so I've always seen that in a more interesting feminist light.
