Let's be honest, Katy needs to start picking up her guitar or piano again to write her songs. Her best lyrics are usually the ones she written by herself on guitar/piano, like TOTGA, NLTM and some o f the stuff on OOTB.
Or find someone that challenges her, like Jonatha Brooke did on the Wells sessions, or how John Mayer probably did on the Krustin sessions.
