And I'm sick of people praising Taylor her songwriting. As if she could really just write hits for someone else, no matter the artist.
Her "songwriting" only works because she is basically turning her heart-shaped locket diary into an album. She could never write smash hits for other artists blindly.
Taylor's songwriting is great, and I don't see how a supposed inability to write for others changes that. On the contrary if you ask me. Everything else about her is ****ing tragic though
It's true. Her narrative songwriting, her playful metaphors or her great use of stylistic devices that's not over-the-top but precise and relatable.
Have you decided on your fave features by year, yet?
Not really. I'll spend a bit of time listening to more though. ATM - top 5 is Boss Ass Bitch, M0nster, Hey Good Morning, Up All Night (that's 4 eye know).
It's weird how Taylor is so huge despite ALL her songs being ripped straight out of a boy-crazy teenage girl's diary. All of them. She doesn't even have a Roar or a Firework -- much less an ET or a Dark Horse -- that's more universal and not about boys. Even Shake It Off has lyrics about boys with hella good hair.
