Not when everyone was so sure she would break Britney's first week record and when this whole discussion is based around that and the fact that she failed to do so honey. I have no doubt that Taylor will be selling as little as Britney Jean after she's been around for 15 years anyway.

Taylor has been in the industry for 8 years, at that time in Britney's career, she wasn't even close at what is Taylor selling now. So I really doubt it.

The Swifties are a mess in this thread Red selling six million copies in it's first week? 1989 outselling ...Baby One More Time? You guys inflate Taylor's sales more than the Navy inflates Rihanna's. Embarrassing. And to the people saying Taylor would've sold more than Britney if she released in 2000, let's not. Back then you needed actual talent to succeed in the industry. Taylor would've easily gotten lost in the mix Britney's, Xtina's, boy/girl bands, and not to mention the true country legend Shania Twain. If Taylor was around in the 2000's she would've ended up like Vanessa Hudgens or Mandy Moore, because even nowadays she barely stands out. She has no personality at all, people have the nerve to call Britney a robot, but Taylor's just as boring. IMO she's even more boring.

But whatever. I'm not going to lie: I am happy Taylor didn't beat the record. It's nice to watch the Swifties back track and act like it's no big deal, when last week they were thinking it would sell 1.5+ But I do want to congratulate Taylor for her 3 albums all debuting with over a million in sales. A lot of artists don't even have one 1 million debut album (!!!), so as I said, congratulations.
