I kind of agree, but Come On Over is kind of the best song of all time.

BOMT and maybe Oops are iconic hits. Also, her meltdown was pretty crucial to 00s popular culture.
I wouldn't call her very influential, but a lot like Chris Brown in the sense that many artists identical to her popped up around her rise to fame, not because they were influenced by her, but because record labels were going with what they thought would work.
Also, she is the quintessential bubblegum Pop starlet - white girl with blonde hair, cute but with a sexy side, limited vocal talent, catchy Pop hits, etc.

But Chris Brown was cut out of the Usher/ Confessions cloth. He's not a good example at all.

That's like Beyoncé claiming Janet is one of her major influences, yes she was huge, yes she had hits, yes she had everything to be a legend, unfortunately the new generations couldn't keep up with her and she was left behind, artists mentioning icons that are forgotten doesn't change the fact that they were forgotten and couldn't reach the peak of legendary status

Literally no one knows/cares about that picture apart from obsessed haters (I hate this term but it completely applies here) on pop forums
Meanwhile none of the prostitutes you stan for, who were ALL created either in Britney's image or specifically against Britney's image, have come close to selling 1.319m copies in their first week

fadga is such a worthless piece of ****
one day you girls will realize that being remembered for something is better than being forgotten and useless
what is fad remembered by? nothing. not one thing.
when does anyone mention fad? who cares about IT and it's fat, succulent limbs? who cares about it's music or videos besides it's disgusting, lonely fans? it has nothing. all that hype and excitement, only to be forgotten a few years later. FLOP.

She's not an icon and she isn't remembered.
She's like Sean Paul/Shaggy, only with slightly more longevity and worse songs.

It's not even a question. ^^
There's a reason she's 1/3 of the pop royalty.

I hope FKA twigs gets more attention after the Jimmy Fallon performance tonight. This time a good creative artist should be popular.

Oh no, I'm saying that both artist spawned many clones and that this spawning should not be mistaken for influence!
Chris succeeds, so record labels create Jacob Latimore, Trevor Jackson, Mindless Behavior, other people whose names I can't remember.
Britney succeeds, so record labels create Christina Aguilera, Mandy Moore, Jessica Simpson, etc.

So let me get this straight
Rock N Roll Hall of Fame inductee, 20 time Grammy winner, 140m albums sold, STILL gets worldwide #1 albums, STILL sells out stadiums around the world (no one else since 2012 has had a bigger tour)
Name dropped by artists relevant to the youth like Taylor Swift, Lana del Rey (in her songs, twice!), Arcade Fire and Lady Gaga (urgh but it still counts)
Has very good YouTube views for songs decades old (Dancing in the Dark and Streets of Philadelphia are both over 40m when all versions are combined)
= Forgotten and "never reached legendary status"

She's definitely above them. Apart from a few of her songs, she also had an iconic performance (the kiss), iconic music videos and an iconic image.
