pd: many people obsessed about the record and now they say it's not a big deal if BB numbers are somehow different they will say the record is everything...bipolar mess.
It would've been awesome to see Taylor break the record obviously but in my eyes, it would've been the least impressive thing that she did. NOT that it's not a feat, it absolutely is. It's just that the way I see it--having three consecutive albums open with 1 million in one week is the biggest thing right now. The fact that she's consistently gone up with every single release and it's her fifth album. The fact that she released it under "pop," which may not seem risky but it sort of was. That's what I'm the most proud of. And the fact that she did this in 2014, when the music market is the worst that it has ever been. Record sales in total are down 12% since Red came out two years ago and yet she bested that number by over 100k.
Congrats to Britney for keeping the record, assuming these numbers are final.
But let's not let being off by 3,000 albums keep us from celebrating the even bigger and better things that Taylor's managed to do.
It's also especially annoying when people come out of the woodwork and start throwing shade on anyone when their fave literally could not even dream of 1/5 of these sales.

amazing numbers! I hope britney keeps the record when the official numbers are out but I won't be surprised if Taylor gets it. she works hard, her popularity is increasing with each era and she deserves it

Now after I congratulate you sis.......hope the sales stay the same when BB #'s come out so Queen Britney can keep the record...until your next album Taylor sis.
