Not like the rest of the Artists that need that extra cash from Spotify
You people are missing the point. Lesser known artists make jack sh!t off Spotify. Taylor is standing up for all artists on Spotify, but them especially.
NOT people actually defending this greedy move by Taylor. Spotify is one of the best things that has happened to the music industry. It allows consumers to cheaply listen to millions of songs and albums which they would otherwise have to dish out a lot of money for, or just illegally download.
How can people defend her removing her albums at all? She makes enough money as it is...
You obviously have no idea about what you're talking about.

Because she writes all of her songs and because she can

Exactly. Poor emerging artists that barely do money for their work.
She writes all her songs and produces them, this is literally her property if she wants to remove them then fine.
But I don't particularly agree that music shouldn't be free. I think in certain cases like a song of the week like on iTunes or some sort of trial would be nice.
That way if they like what they hear they can support the artist.
Even still the artist has the right to make the call on what happens with their music.

It's great for the consumers not for the artist.
Unless you're a major artist you'll barely make any money at all.
It's crazy that I see people in the album and single sales threads talking about how bad it is that people are not selling but then get surprised when an artist is making people buy their music. Music consumers need to pay for the product.
Her music will just get illegally downloaded more and she'll miss out on those "irrelevant' checks from Spotify anyway.
Are you serious? Spotify only became a "thing" like four years ago. Her sales were massive before Spotify, when illegal downloading was the only way to get free music. What makes you think that would change in only a few years when she's arguably bigger than ever around the globe?
I support this decision. Spotify needs to pay up if they want Triple A superstars on Spotify. Taylor is taking a stand and I commend her for it. Why sell your house for 17 cents? That's essentially what she's doing.
On the flip side, she runs the risk of losing the ability to reach new listeners who might hear her music for the first time and go make a purchase. Spotify has exposed me to many artists I otherwise wouldn't have listened to. It brought me out of my comfort zone and led me to challenge my listening habits.
Smart move on her part with a big risk for backfire. I stand with Swift.
Lol at some of yall dragging Spotify like it isn't the future. Albums are dying, accept it. Taylor's sitting pretty now, but even she will need Spotify one day.
