Well it kinda also explains why she would have even brought it up to have it put out there in the first place. Nobody would have made the connection if she hadn't alluded to it in a way that made it obvious who the song was about, in which case it would have come across as just another catchy pop song with awkward/dumb lyrics about a scorned ex or something.

Maybe she feels the song is not good enough to stand on its own or something.
