The closest we get to an answer is "perhaps 10." I would say, if you do bulk-buy, do no more than 5 copies at a single time. I'm sure it's just slightly above 10, but it's better safe than sorry.
The store will automatically count every sale; they have to for inventory and sales purposes (they'd lose out on a ton of sales if someone came and bought them out of all 80 albums at one time, they counted it as "0" and then decided not to stock more copies because their databases showed they never sold one). Nielsen Soundscan is the one who excludes the sales in an attempt to stop labels from bulk-buying their own artists' music.
If you do buy 20 copies and they don't count for Nielsen Soundscan, though, they will still have an affect on the store buying new shipments of albums, meaning bulk-buying does have an affect on RIAA.
