It would be pretentious because Beyonce (and a lot of black women) are obviously fond of the weave. Why would she suddenly stop that and decide to go natural for half of her videos? Because you and some others (who probably don't even really give a damn, but just want something to pick over) might want her to? It would be so transparent of her...and unnecessary as well.

At this ignorance. Lupita is not the standard of beauty or representative of what all blacks should look like. And on top of that the likes who look like lupita get those same comments, because in racist's eyes if your beautiful it must be due to european ancestry/especially if you have smaller features.
1. Iman's makeup in the past was light because there was NO cosmestics for WOC in her day. It was actually due to Iman that every black woman around the world (including the ones you bang) don't have to wear unflattering makeup that makes em look grey
2. Who cares if she wears weaves she is a WOC we all know our hair is seen as unprofessional. Especially in the era she came from you had to wear wigs/perm to make it anywhere, on top of that Iman has already worn her natural hair several times
3. Blonde hair doesn't equate to white people, most whites are not naturally blonde either. Plus black women should be able to experiment with their hair colors just like white women without being accused of self hate

And here's the thing; When a white woman puts extensions, you couldnt tell unless she told you. When a black woman puts a weave in, you know she didnt grow that ish out of her head. To me if you rock weaves to point your entire hairline is gone (ie Naomi Campbell, the fat chick from The Parkers), you have a problem. And it's not up to society to fix it.

Well yeah of course the white man is to blame your reality doesn't speak for the majority. The facts are black natural hair isn't seen as professional and as a result many of us especially back in them days had no choice but to conform. I really think lots of black people as a whole hate natural hair. I think if Bey rocked braids on the red carpet or rih rocked an afro theyd literall be like ashamed or something. There doesnt need to be a reason to be yourself , like wearing natural hair is not som political statement. Some girls just see beauty in themselves naturally.

On the red carpet is what I said. Notice the outfit she wore with it, if she wore that hair with a nice dress to the grammys, amas, popeyes grand opening etc theyd come for her. Like Gangsta said is not seen as glamourous, beautiful, elegant, professional etc. Thats when she needs to ditch it for a long blonde weave, which is ridiculous.
