This is why I (almost) always give music suggestions a try. You never know who you'll discover!
There are a lot of people on here who have a strange pride in only stanning people "since their debut" and either refuse to listen to something new, or try to prove that they've been a fan since day 1 after discovering them- but I don't think there's anything shameful about discovering an artist later on in their career.
I found out about Janet through a suggestion too. It was actually ALIEN (before he joined ATRL, I don't think he posts much now, anyway) and I was totally blown away with what I heard. I mean, I knew some of Janet's work through my mom, but that was just mainly her radio friendly hits, no raunchy/intimate album tracks or anything.
What was your first Janet album? Mine was All For You
followed by Velvet Rope.
