I agree. But "Hard Candy" wasn't a flop - it's one of the top 5 biggest debuts by a female in the US this year! As far as I could remember only Britney, Taylor, Mariah, Beyonce and Miley are ahead of her. I don't think so, her sales have been growing through out the last 4 years in the US, but it wouldn't put her in a place were people could say "She never flopped".

HC didn't have flop first week sales but it isn't even close to platinum--like 700K sold.
LOL you said she was one of the top five debuts but then mentioned five women who would be ahead of her. I don't think Miley had a higher debut. Britney, Taylor, Mariah and Beyonce all did obviously.
I hope she pulls a
Ray of Light and picks some crazy unknown producers soon. As for her recent past albums,
American Life was a flop but
COAD was a huge success so it's not like she was out of the spotlight this year.
