Taylor really has slayed everyone. This is what the Hive was imagining for their own fave when BEYONCÉ was released, not knowing it would end up a repeat of the 4 era. But Taylor's era is not fueled by gimmicks, she will continue to sell.
He's so tall and handsome as hell
He's so bad, but he does it so well
I can see the end as it begins
My one condition is
Say you'll remember me
Standing in a nice dress, staring at the sunset, babe
Red lips and rosy cheeks, say you'll see me again
Even if it's just in your
Wildest dreams, ah-aah ha
Wildest dreams, ah-aah ha
This could seriously be a Lana track Even the way she sings the lyrics are Lana-esque.
Lyically? Idts. There aren't any empty vintage references or lyrics about being dicked down by 'daddy'.
1989 is essentially the same type of music Katy makes but it has outsold Prism's first week sales on its first day. 1989 will sell one third of Prism's sales-to-date in one week. Prism came after an era with 6 number 1 hits. This is shameful.
You said Katy is more global than Taylor, but 1989 will outsell Prism in many markets outside the US.
You said the reason critics prefer Taylor over Katy was because Katy makes pure radio pop music. And yet:
Why are you still here? I don't understand. Your fave has been tarred and feathered by Taylor's recent performance, the last thing you should be doing is spending your time on her. Go worry about the next rent-a-rapper her label will come up with to get her back on radio.
