Let's be real, Taylor's writing is only praised because everyone else's is crap.

Not true. It's been praised since the beginning of her career, when she was just starting out and very that famous yet...and there is plenty of great writing in Country music. Not to mention, a ton of Taylor's music was written solely by her, no co-writes. Taylor and Lorde have very different writing styles so I don't see the need to compare them.
This is a girl who got a publishing deal when she was 14, before she got an official record deal. Imogen Heap even commented that she didn't know much about Taylor and assumed she was some label creation, and was absolutely blown away by how great of a writer she is.
Obviously her singles like You Belong With Me, WANEGBT, SIO, etc are written to be radio friendly pop singles, and they aren't super lyrically advanced. But songs like All Too Well, Red, The Lucky One, Mine, etc are some good examples of how great of a writer she is. She's so great at storytelling, painting visuals through her lyrics and focusing on details.
