Not really seeing the problem. They're doing the same thing, making pop music. Only difference is that 1D makes solid pop music that is, on average, much better than Kety's. Critics agree!
And I've said it before and I'll say it again: "you stan for .... so you shouldn't come for ...." is the stupidest argument ever. If I had Mozart in my avi, would my opinion suddenly become more valid?
As if people can't like a whole variety of music anyways. Please.
EDIT: Although I have to say, it's really only Katy fans and their ilk I see consistently using this argument. It's their fallback since there's no other way to defend her garbage.
I hope the comparisons with Lana in I Know Places or w/e are reasonable.
