Yes, poor the album with six top 3 smashes (woo the decline). 1989 leaked only yesterday so people still act like it's the second coming but it will be a BEYONCE tea. I can promise you that. The highlights are vastly outnumbered by the generic and forgettable fillers.
1989 is her best album, and it makes it so much more exciting to see what she does next.
It really is.
Red was hard to top, but I really believe she did it with this one. It's timeless and "I Know Places" may be her best song ever (poor S&S). That chorus kind of savagely murders the other girls.

K that's your opinion.
But my opinion is that '1989' doesn't have Circle the Drains and Who Am I Living Fors and Pearls and Ghosts and Love Mes and This Moments and It Takes Twos. It also has a lot more to say than any Katy album.
Just finished 1989 and it's really the AOTY. This should be a reminder to never doubt The Lord.
I can't even pick my favorite yet. I Know Places, Wildest Dreams, All You Had To Do Was Stay, Style, New Romantics....some of the best pop songs of 2014.
Your favorite should be Clean
Still can't get over the opening couplet, what kind of Fiona Apple - Valentine teas?
Stop embarrassing yourself. The first song aka "Welcome To New York" already give what you're going to hear later: garbage. Never ever compare Teenage Dream to this horrendous record.
Teenage Dream (song) ****S OVER EVERY SONG ON 1989.

But any of the songs on 1989 could literally be on PRISM? If Katy recorded Shake It Off would it be 'clever or sharp or perfectly attuned'? It really makes no sense.
Did you actually listened to 1989? SIO could have been sung by Katy I agree but the rest is taykor to the T. If you are familiar with her music then you would definitely recognize her style in 1989
Why is Taylor getting such good reviews with basically PRISM 2.0? It begs the question what if critics have a personal bias against Katy and don't concentrate on just the music when reviewing her?
