They're just mad that it's Taylor's first "official" pop album... and she blows Katy and the other girls out of the water with one try.
The thing with Taylor is that she could've easily stayed country or country-pop for the rest of her career, and she still would've been massively successful. Switching to straight-up pop was a
choice for her, which means she worked with typical producers on her own terms. Not true for Katy, who has no choice but to depend on pop's biggest producers, because she would quickly be forgotten if she tried to do anything else.
