Pleasantly surprised to see him again in Quarantine, and I love that he makes it to the end with his hot self in both films.

Yeah, though that's so my his most flattering pic
I know I saw Quarantine, but it didn't leave me with much of an impression in terms of writing at all (main reason I haven't seen [Rec], since I hear the characters/script are basically the same) Loved him in Hostel though. Final boy who's a Latino AND a douche? Did NOT see that one coming. And way more interesting than the basic virgin girls we always get

The only other films I've seen are Final Destination (they're campy fun), The Collector (not a big fan of that one) and Hostel. I only liked it for the lead guy I hate when films use gore to incite fear instead of utilizing whatever caused that injury to incite fear. The Evil Dead, Saw and movies like that are my least favorite ever.

Cabin was seriously amazing. I love meta-horror done well as well. I think my favs are cabin, Scream 1, and New Nightmare. As for the rest of Scream, really like 2. 4 is a mixed bag (some stuff is awesome, like I love Sidney in it and I thought the motive was pretty clever, but I wanted to die everytime I saw the idiot cops on screen). Not big on 3 outside of my utter queen Jennifer.
As for collector, I think the sequel did everything way better. It's got almost an entirely different tone. Tho IDK if I'd rec it if you disliked 1.
Why is The Evil Dead listed here when those movies (sans the remake and sorta the orig) are horror-
comedies and not even trying @ scares?

And yeah, I don't like shock tactics to replace scares either (basically the entire reason why I don't bother with French horror movies and exploitation. If you think Saw is bad... Hoooo booooyyyyy. Just look up the plot of Inside

!)
That said, I actually don't mind gory films as long as they have other aspects going for them as well (For example, Saw 3D is awful but I thought, say, Saw 6 and Hostel both had well thought out plots and some likeable characters to the point it didn't feel like a gore-reliance to me)
