The movie was delayed already for her pregnancy and it changed the entire project.
There was no decent big name male lead available for movie at the time and it kept delayed. So she have to quit or waste 2013 with pre production and shooting things.

On one hand.... I feel like this could be the vehicle to at least get Bey the Oscar for best song.. The acting will be another story competition-wise. Clint directing would certainly bring the Oscar buzz and fill the seats. As long as she had an amazing co-star, the seats would be full whether or not Clint directed.
On the other hand, if she did it for political reasons, I applaud her for sticking to her beliefs. Because she didn't do this movie, we got Superbowl, Visual Album, OTR Tour, and MCWT. (Unless Bey, being Bey, could have fit it in somewhere).
The fact it has not resumed shooting could mean good things. I think Parkwood should collaborate with Ryan Murphy on One Hit Wonders. And then a Star Is Born with an amazing co-star for 2016.
