although it is basic it isn't as devoid of personality as people think. theres the obvious boyfriends line the bridge probably about Katy and Harry also that fact she had recently got dragged for being papped going home @ 12am (gasp) drunk (i stay out to late)
then theres the evolution of her confidence and independence
Fearless: I don't know why but with you I'd dance
In a storm in my best dress, fearless
Last Kiss: I'm not much for dancing but for you I did
Holyground: Tonight I’m gonna dance for all that we’ve been through.
But I don’t wanna dance if I’m not dancing with you.
Shake It Off:I'm dancing on my own make the moves up as i go
she's come so far
like i said not much bt something
anyway and WTNY has good lyrics. its no ATW or Treacherous but its better than CCBH, 22, TMIK, GAH, , SSS, Starlight, arguably IAD EHC and RED and this is supposedly one of the worst songs so i'd say she's doing fantastically improving on the already impressive Red
imho WTNY is the superior Starlight as OOTW is the Holyground
every song can't be a wordy State of Grace cause one it would get boring and 2 it just doesn't work well with pop production
i have faith she will relieved and it will be even better than Sacred

Did I say it was devoid of personality... no? So take several seats.
As for your comment about 'wordy' not working well with pop production. I completely disagree. I also wouldn't describe SOG as wordy.
Shake It Off is dreadful lyrically, no matter how much personality is in it.
Out Of The Wood's chorus is a let down for the rest of the song. But it's the best I've heard so far.
Welcome To New York is also pretty bad. Taking too many cliches and putting them in one song. Like many others have said, it sounds like a Glee song.
Sorry that my opinion is different to yours... apparently other Swift fans aren't allowed to disagree with you or else we get lumbered as 'hard to please'.
