Bey calls herself a feminist because she believes in equality,she believes in women being able to expand themselves whether it's in business, goals,etc.

If a certain dance move makes a person feel good about themselves and is just having fun they have every right to do so. Just because it doesn't empower some people it does for others. Who is she or any other person to talk down and judge others about what they are doing ? how is that feminism when you are judging others and giving an example on how feminism should look like.

Saying that something is not feminist is not the same as shaming it. It's saying that is not feminist.

For those wondering why Annie keeps coming for Beyonce . . . It's because people have been asking her about Beyonce and feminism in her recent interviews. Annie isn't just calling her name out of the blue. When you use feminism as a branding gimmick, as Beyonce clearly does, it will be critiqued, and not everyone will agree with what you're selling.

Why does Beyoncé, a female who supports equality in a system where they're at an unfair advantage, need to be "dragged" for feminism in any kind of way?

Feminism is NOT about what is and isn't feminism.
It's about standing up for equality on all aspects of women's lives.
It's not about finger pointing and singling out what women can and can't do.
It's about breaking those barriers so that femininity isn't considered a weakness or how us men place them at a disadvantage from birth until they die.
There should not be a need to drag someone for bringing such a critical social movement to the masses that can make a woman feel confident and self-assured and strong.

Maybe it's YOU that needs to be dragged for being so fractionalizing as Annie put it.

Her husband came up with that. It's references a film. The actual words were never spoken in real life. And what does art have to do with Beyoncé's view on feminism? She's free to allow her husband freedom to say what he wants on the track.

I didn't mean dragging the fundamentals of her feminism, it's admirable how she brought the conversation to the forefront however the way she presents it leaves a lot to be desired. She can sit here and speak about how societal ideals placed on women are oppressive but her actions speak louder than her words and personally I am not inspired by a woman who perpetuates those ideals by photoshopping her pictures and trying to maintain an image of perfection. I'm inspired by a woman like Nicki who can speak about her feminism yet act on it too, a women who against all odds in a male dominated industry worked her way to the top and expresses her sexuality yet doesn't do anything to erase the work she's done by promoting something she's supposedly fighting against.

Beyonce IS a feminist, I'm not denying that, but as I said her presentation and actions leave a lot to be desired.

That too. It's disgusting how she let her husband joke about something as serious and potentially deadly as domestic violence on her song. I just cannot take her seriously.

I recall Beyonce mouthing the lyrics in the video and during the performance with a smile on her face. That was a song included in her album, which i love, but you can't have feminism in there and then mock domestic abuse, it doesn't make sense. The song is about having a good time with your partner, why on earth did they need to add that phrase from a particularly humiliating scene based on real events?
Like i said i love her album but that was just wrong and insulting.
