It's not a naïve view of NY. Everyone's experiences are different. My best friend is a born and raised NY'er refuses to ride the subway, went to Parochial school. My experiences are different. I ride the Subway and went to Private school. She thinks riding the subway is gross/dangerous.
I think seeing a Broadway show is a luxury. She thinks its the norm @ $125.00 a ticket.
Will Smith grew up in urban Philly but he always said "I grew up in a middle class environment unlike some that may have experienced Police Brutality/shootings So, it would be disingenuous for me to rap abut those things".
