Surprised that SIO's been able to keep Bass to 77% on iTunes 5 days after the pre-order effect from people motivated to buy the album from Out of the Woods.

Animals is at 75% of Bass. I wonder how the digital chart will look like in 2-3 weeks when Taylor promo (/album) tracks aren't running around the T10 on iTunes. Will it still be SIO/Bass, or will they have declined enough for some other gurlz to have a chance?

But that's my opinion.

Lyrically, I believe she stepped up her game with "Red" . Don't get me wrong, she was a lyrical genius with the other albums . But, keeping it real she was the critics darling cause she was writing phenomenal lyrics for her age.

But I believe if she put out some, not all of those songs at 25 it wouldn't have the same impact.

Like.

The way She changes up "the best day" in the chorus to "the best days" in the bridge obliterates me everytime. Such a minor thing, but it makes all the difference.

Because changing perspective in the final chorus was a songwriting trick she was overly reliant for a while and she needed to change it up.

Also, I agree with Val - y'all worship Fearless and Speak Now but those albums both had a distinctly YA-flavor. It worked to their advantage because Taylor was so young at the time - they were authentic expressions of that experience - but today all the fairy tale talk would read like arrested development.
