Everyone and their brother submits, there are way less likely candidates than MM or SOML that have been submitted this year too

And don't forget even Biebs got two nominations before he became a hot mess. I highly doubt 1D will get nominated any time soon, but SOML getting a pop group nom is at least within the realm of possibility.
