Oh, Nicole. I forgot to mention that after you showed me that "Oviedo" clip, I wanted to see more of the Vicky character, so I watched "Vicky Christina Barcelona" from the pedophile rapist the other day. Man, Woody Allen's films really are overrated. They are really dull. Even his renowned "Annie Hall" film is boring as hell. The dialogue was good in "Vicky Christina Barcelona" (Penélope Cruz' Oscar was well-earned), but if it wasn't for Vicky and Maria, the film would be lifeless. Don't know why Dr. Lukasz Allen's films keep getting awards and recognition.

Remember when I told you that Still Alice would show a side of Kristen that people had never seen and do wonders for her? This was before the movie had even been screened.

Stewart is exceptional as the youngest of her children, Lydia. She expertly portrays Lydia’s rebellious, childish side in the beginning. She’s the daughter who disagrees with her mother’s belief that she needs a college degree and instead moves from New York to Los Angeles to pursue an acting career. But, as her mother’s disease progresses, it is not her lawyer sister, Anna (Kate Bosworth), or medical student brother, Tom (Hunter Parrish), who are the most mature, it’s Lydia. She’s patient and kind and engaging, offering gentle support when her mother insists on unnecessary tactics. Stewart’s expression when Alice doesn’t recognize Lydia is downright haunting. The role allowed Stewart to tap into an array of emotions and she did so effortlessly.

I've heard so many great things about Kristen Stewart's performance in "Clouds of Sils Maria" but haven't heard as much, or very little, about Kristen Stewart's performance in "Still Alice." My intuition tells me that Kristen Stewart probably gave a better performance in "Sils Maria," but is being pushed for an Oscar in "Still Alice" because Julianne Moore is the driving force behind the film and an Oscar front-runner and "Still Alice" will probably be the more talked about film in the long run. It's a very strategic move, with the casualty being Kristen Stewart's better performance in "Sils Maria." I haven't seen either movie. This is all just speculation on my part, but I'm pretty good at reading a person/situation like a book.
