Well, the Nolan trilogy is widely seen as the franchise's Magnum Opus, so I guess they're putting the good sis to pasture so some other DC properties can get some hype.
Batman will still slay the video game industry with Arkham Knight and hopefully a couple of spin-offs (Catwoman please), so I think he's in a pretty good place rn.
