If she would have topped France, Italy and Germany then it would have been more perfect
#1 United States
#1 Japan
N/A United Kingdom
#3 Germany
#3 France
#1 Australia
#1 Canada
#1 Brazil
#2 Italy
#2 Netherlands
#1 Sweden
#1 Spain
#1 India
#1 Mexico
#2 Switzerland
#2 Belgium
#1 Norway
#1 Austria
#1 Sweden
#1 Denmark
Even if she was flopping in France/Germany like she was previous era she would be alright because she is slaying the top music markets in the world. Going pop actually helped her instead of hurt
I'm glad you told me to. It works much better for me the second time. First I feel like its the first time I get to listen to a Taylor song and not fuss with "what is it?". Its just a pure pop song so I can sit back and enjoy, cause I love pop music. Probably if this were not TS with all the baggage I would give it a lot more clearance. But since it is "the voice of a generation", I guess I must judge it as such. A title like Out of the Woods, I think conjures so many images if what it could be, that it becomes a let down when you realize it is just another "we are so misunderstood that "we" don't even understand us. How cool are we"! And the songs say absolutely nothing. I really want Taylor to start showing some substance. Create a theme, flesh it out with some lyrics that create a mood related to the theme. Not to go all "Carrie Underwood" on us, but with the help of professional writers she comes up with these ideas and themes and she sees them through the song to a resolution at the end. Taylors music rarely if ever does that. She can write something like "the monsters were only trees" and the world goes Gaga, its like they are programmed to. OR maybe teenagers just don't have anymore depth at this age of development to realize that these are very simple ideas and they are not terribly creative. They are whimsical, and that is cool, but thought provoking or even thoughtful, they are not!
But listening to it again was much more satisfying , and I like the production a lot. I don't mind repetition, I do understand its purpose. Its just that it is starting to look like a pattern with her that can get...well....repetitive is she uses it too much...
As a stand alone pop tune, I would give it a C+. But with the expectations that the world tells me she is a genius, I have to give it a C-. You expect more from geniuses I guess...
Re: above
Lol that pk from carriefans gives me such a warm glowing feeling of humor, they always sound so stupidly pompous and narrow-minded yet completely unaware.
They are always so pressed about Taylor and out of touch with reality it is hilarious. They all proclaim how terrible Taylor is at everything and then they all scratch their heads when the rest of the world disagrees. Their meltdowns are always fun and pretty frequent considering Taylor keeps winning in so many things. I don't know how they live in such constant bitterness.
idk how i feel about out of the woods. the fans who listened said that OOTW is the 2nd worst song. idk how i feel. i think itll grow. I LOVE THE INTRO and Chorus and first verse and instrumental. how much do you think she'll open with? I think 500k is safe. ANd most likely 700k. Maybe 1 mil-1.3 mil
i felt the same way the first 10 times, but now, i love it. it's great i want to scream the lyrics.

He's a ****ing joke. Why the **** can't he enjoy a song just because it's Taylor Swift?? Saying that he can't "give it clearance" based on the fact that it's a Taylor Swift song . Does anybody ever reply to this guy with anything other than 'wtf are you talking about??' Those comments alone makes me not read his post further. It renders his whole "point" invalid, what a dumbass
And LOL at him completely missing the metaphor, ****ing moron
She should put an audio vid on YT just to get them quick easy stream points, and perhaps to circumvent some who won't buy it regardless but might illegally download as their source of listening to it.
Idk about you but this song gives me tim mcgraw teas... Not the sound obviously but like the story of the relationship.. And also I love how each of her songs always tells a story... I'm glad she hasn't lost that storytelling aspect to her music!

Whats even more humorous is Im pretty sure he claims to be a songwriter musician himself lol. Id bet money only thing he ever writes is moronic comments on blogs and carriefans

Their hate has significantly declined since she went full on pop. The RED era posts were so entertaining . Seems as if their is one person who can just not seem to stay away from Taylor, even though he has claimed how he doesn't like Taylor's music (although never even listening to most of her songs ). Openly admitting that, and admitting that he is jealous of the fact that she stole his faves thunder. His opinions are just that, and they remain as irrelevant as his fave
