We had a case few years ago with a singer who left her label, and that label took everything from her, because of the right that they had. She disappears for few years and came back as an independent artist with new music and her own TV channel! But it wasn't the same as before because her old label had the rights on all of her materials and they banned all of it from airing on radio, TV etc. One of our biggest artists, became no one in the blink of an eye! Few other artists followed her path and they are also no one's right now!
I don't think that XL will go that far, because they are indie label, but Adele's lawyers better secure her
