If immigrants come here and are offended by it, then maybe they should consider moving back or to another country that doesn't offend them. We mean no harm, if they do feel offended by it, then they need to get over it cuz they chose to move to a country, it means they need to adapt, not the people who already live there. I don't see African countries accept gays, I don't see muslim countries change their national holidays, traditions etc when other people move there, but they are the ones who expect the entire western world to change cuz they live in such a ****** place with ****** governments that they need to flee for their lives. They should be happy they can go somewhere else and live in safety instead of fear for their lives

Everyone who comes here is welcome and deserves respect, but in return they need to respect local traditions, even and maybe especially cuz they don't understand it, they need to invest and learn to understand it

It depends if it used with a negative connotation. Here in Italy, "negro" is basically the equivalent of the n-word and carries a racist/negative connotation; "nero" (which means "black") is accepted. But in places where "negro" just means black and it does not have any historical negative undertone, I don't think it is offensive.

But what if they aren't genuinely offended by it. AA's need to realise they aren't their take on stuff is not the same world over.

I mean apartheid only ended 20 years ago here but we aren't as sensitive as they are.

I'm talking about people who are from your country not immigrants. Obviously the way you guys handle race relations is different from the US since there's no negative history behind it, which is why its not taboo to use 'whiteface' here. And mess at you saying they should adapt because its tradition. Tradition isn't always correct and sometimes should be changed, especially if it discriminates against a group of people. I don't know much about blackface in other countries but I take your word its not meant to be offensive, I'm just saying its a generalization to assume black people aren't offended in your country because its not representing You.

If I'm being honest I don't even care anymore tbh. I would kinda be thrown off if someone said that to me because it's so outdated I feel like people in my race get so worried and consumed what people say to them like what they can say and what they can't; what they should do and what they shouldn't. I cringe every time I see someone fight over someone saying the n-word. Just walk away. It's happened to me but I just move on instead of feeding into it. I'm so tired about hearing other black people talk about racism everyday. Some people just can't accept people do things for a reason so they jump to racism. Racism is alive and well but you have to realize that just because some white guy says the n-word that doesn't make them automatically a racist (maybe ignorant though). I feel like people are throwing the race card way too often recently. I'm gonna get dragged for this btw
