I think Stay by Rihanna was included in the R&B/hip hop songs chart on the album release week but got removed when it became a single. I'm not 100% sure about this though. I actually think Stay would've got urban airplay if Rihanna sent it for adds though, piano ballads by Alicia Keys and John Legend got plays before.

"Thrift Shop" actually reached #13 on the impressions-based Rock Airplay Chart, due to its Top 15 peak at Alternative Rock. That peak is 20 positions higher than the #33 on the R&B/Hip-Hop Airplay Chart.

I agree about "Stay" though. It was Top Two on Rhythmic (actually Top Three across all four "Pop" formats: AC/Hot AC/Top 40/Rhythmic, and even reached the Top 50 at Triple A!), and wound up being a bigger hit than "Diamonds", despite peaking at #3 instead of #1. So there is no reason "Stay" would not have been a smash on Urban Radio, and the song likely would have gone to #1 on the Hot 100. I think she had "Pour It Up" and "Love Song" already at Urban Radio, though "Stay" was miles ahead of those two songs,
