The bad games you're referring to were mainly from the 09 - early 11 period.
Since then they have not had a Final Fantasy spin-off fail as bad as any of them. Dissidia 012, Theatrhythm, Curtain Call, Type-0, KH: DDD, XIII-2 (bad story but everything else was solid), Lightning Returns, Bravely Default, the ports and Agito.
Motomu Toriyamas is horrible though.
