"Gaga revealed more about the song “Sire” backstage in Cleveland last night, so now I can finally talk about it!
When we met her at the Born This Way Ball February 2013, she told us about the song “Sire.” It’s about Michael Jackson, and how people built him up to be a King, but once they did they were no longer worthy of him.
She then sang the song to us, and many of the lines were references to Michael songs. It was a brilliant concept, and I’m incredibly excited to hopefully hear it on Act II of ARTPOP.
And I’m excited to finally be able to share this bit of information we learned that we’ve had to keep a secret until now!"

While she sang it acoustically obviously the way it was sung made me think there is some sort of evident production behind it - she was clicking her fingers to not a fast beat, but it was steady. The vocals were slow, but the lyric in particular that I remember "you never know, I could be Michael, the next Michael Jackson" had a bit of a swing, she sang that lyric in a way I could picture Michael singing it himself. True Michael style.
Let's please ignore that interview. Let's discuss how flawless these legit Sire lyrics are.

Not sure how I feel about it since it sounds so incredibly self-indulgent. Even more so than Gaga normally is. "I could be Michael, the next Michael Jackson" would have her dragged. But if it's something she's confident with, I'll support it.

Since the song seems to be about people turning their back on celebrities they used to praise to high heavens, like they did to Michael, I think Gaga is expressing her fear that she could be the next one to suffer Micheal's fate.
I dont think she's comparing herself to Michael.
