Idk it's a hard call with Prince. His influence is undeniable. But a lot of artists have taken note and come out with more mainstream, more recognizable work. It's really all about how known you are for your OWN material, and Prince is kind of forgotten and local tbqh. If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear, does it make a sound?
