Because Kelly didn't take the easy route and didn't go country, there's much more competition in the pop world.
If Kelly had been country from the start, she probably wouldn't have had any competition, I think she would have been the only country girl there. Combined with her Idol fame, she would have been huge but also local. Just like what happened to Carrie (no shade intended).
All I saw was "#video" and #christmas".
