Homegirl tried to sound interesting and deep but failed miserably. She sounded dumb and failed to get her point across. It's sad because I looked up to her so much as a kid BECAUSE she was a black woman, but I guess she didn't feel the same way about herself. Seeing a black woman be funny, a black woman in charge of her own little empire, a black woman doing a movie about college... it helped me so much growing up. I'll be damned if this type of response is considered normal or acceptable. Like yeah, go ahead and say it I guess, but good luck with your next project and acting like you aren't a BLACK child star

She did not say she wasn't African she said she doesn't want to be called African American or gay because those are labels and just wants to be called American but that's a label too.

She's saying that she's not African-American, she's just American. Then she goes on to say she is White, Asian and Indian as well and you can tell she is trying to distance herself from black people. At the end of the day people see her as black and I'd like to see her walk up to the Trayvon Martin's parent or Mike Brown's parents and try to explain her Kumbaya fortune cookie ass ********.
