also kinda late but my problem with break free is its basic ass beat. it sounds like they didn't put any effort into it at all, and the lyrics aren't good enough to distract from that
The US still hated her at that point though, it wasn't until SS came along that people in America cared about her.
Lorde has had way more exposure and the song is coming from one of the biggest movie franchises around. The decline is real!
idk she had still outsold PH by that point in time.
It certainly doesn't help that Yellow Flicker Beat is disappointing (it sounds like a ****ing Jem song ) while Young and Beautiful is probably Lana's best
