I would say this is VERY accurate of ranking the #1's from '99 most to least memorable in 2014.

This makes no sense. 
If anything my age PROVES it. How big a song was in 1999 isn't relevant to whether it's remembered in 2014.
If we go by how big it was during release than One Sweet Day remains the most memorable song from the 90's decade.

You can't make a list of how memorable or how much impact something had at the time by googling it decades later.
You will never fully understand how impactful some things were unless you experienced it. Some things maybe but some things are kind of like "you had to be there" situations, it's like trying to re-tell a joke. Stats don't really show cultural impact at all. Especially for stuff before the digital age.
This is like when you were trying to downplay how huge TRL was
