We lose a lot of how ****ed up Nick is because David Fincher is a closet misogynist (the new Hitchcock for real wooo) and chose to accentuate Amy's flaws while leaving Nick as a sympathetic "nice guy". That's the inherent issue with Gone Girl, and it's sooooo amazing but I can't get over that.

I agree with the first paragraph, but this is a pretty good rebuttal to the misogyny criticism and reflects what I ended up taking away from it --

But like I said last night (and he acquiesces in the intro to that article), there is definitely a lot of material there that lends itself to the more troubling reading.
