She's clearly the best female rapper in years. She got the sales and acclaim to back it up. Why does the Grammy snub her mand why does the music industry pay her dust and respect?

At the 2012 Grammys she was against MBDTF and Otis which were sure going to win. Than for BNA Bon Iver was a critical darling who really shocked nobody when he won.

She just had bad timing with her nominations.

Pink Friday was a great album but it wasn't worthy of the grammy. Roman Reloaded was rightfully not even nominated because it wasn't up to par.

Her material isn't there. Hopefully The Pink Print can change that but PNP and Anaconda aren't gonna help it's chances in the rap categories.

Nicki needs to focus on writing and making solid material. She plays too much. Anaconda is a hit because of her ass and the video. But she needs to step it up rap-wise if she wants grammys.

Pink Friday was PRAISED but it didn't win because it was competing with Kanye West and Lil Wayne.
In 2011 she was nominated for Best New Artist (nominates musicians with good material), along with huge names like Bon Iver, J. Cole or Skrillex.
Pink Friday DEFINITELY was Grammy material.

PF;RR was just messy in terms of releases. It didn't get nominated because it wasn't pop or rap, it was getting mixed reviews from different fans. She had Grammy worthy songs like HOV Lane in the album but she went with her own mind and released what she wanted. It's all about her messy timing.

Yes. Due to her amazing features, she's respected within the urban community. But in order to get respect from more high profile critics, credible award show committees and the mainstream, she'll need to change it up and grow. LAN was a step in the right direction. Everything else was a step down (P&P, Anaconda, Yas Bish etc)

Because of 3 things:
- She looked like a clown at times in her debut years
-She has animated voices aka **** that comes out of her mouth during some songs
-She is black.

While Iggy has 3 things:
-Looks amazing/classy
-Is tall and can rap great.
-Is white.

3 things Nicki will never be.

I she continues to release songs like Anaconda as singles this whole era then yeah I can see her respect as an artist diminishing over time. But I doubt that'll happen. It was probably released to jump start the era for better future singles.
