Have been reading the old thread for Stronger the song to prepare for the slayage of Kelly's new era but the thing that amused me a bit is how almost eveyone was so sure that Dark Side would easily go Top10 and likely even #1 while I was always saying that DS wouldn't be a hit. I kinda "glad" (not really glad, as the song flopped) that I was right.

Me too! Maybe DS "deserved" to be a single because it's a good song but so is LMD which would do better in my opinion although it would be another "boy-bashing Kelly's song". Considering that Kelly and her team knew that there would be only 1 single after Stronger, I think Stronger should have been followed either by LMD or IFY (which I don't like but it has better potential to do well during summer unlike DS which would be more suitable for winter or autumn).

It was top 5 on UK radio for example, they just handled it appallingly. It still remains one of her best.

Or maybe it wouldn't. We'll never know. It's true that it went almost Top40 without any promo but the music video as its only solo performance was at BBMA and during other occasions it was often sung with Stronger which easily overshadowed it, not to mention that all promo was BEFORE its release. I know that but the question is whether it would be able to go to Top10 if it was promoted properly. Surely it would have if it had been the lead single but as the third single while Stronger still being massive, I don't know. They promoted the hell out of MKIA and it barely went Top10. Maybe DS just wasn't destined to smash.

Oh yeah, how would she have lived without that? It's just an irrelevant fan voted award in an irrelevant category but we all know that Kelly wants to win everything she's nominated for. I remember the open letter in which she thanked Kanye for dragging Taylor's ass who had won Best Pop Female Video over her.

I have been listening to Kelly Discography for past couple of days. Breakaway is her best album. I already had listened to Stronger and few of her other songs. I didn't like anything from My December though .
