New York cannot be about Taylor because while it talks about the subject and how they have moved to New York now, the time scales don't fit. The song was written and performed in 2013 but Taylor only moved to New York in 2014.

I hope we get a good amount of singles this era. I feel like the gap between this one and the next may be a little longer than expected. Honestly I feel as if she could've waited 3 years after RED for this album but I don't complain about getting new music from her so. (Hype reasons obviously)
