I feel like BB or HDD would've announced if she had broken the record by now. I hope that once promo singles kick in they will give 1989 the boost in needs.

It hasn't broken the record yet. I don't know what the record for pre-order is but I think 1989 will do 300K - 400K through pre-orders alone.

There's no way. Red sold 465,000 digital copies in its first week in the US, so 1989 having 300k+ just from pre orders is impossible. She's much bigger on physical sales than digital.

Also the record is by 1D with like 200k. And Justin Timberlake has the record for a solo artist with like 140k, she'll probably beat that.

One Direction is higher on iTunes than Taylor tho, so i dont think Taylor can break the record because they are selling more than her

She is much bigger on physical sales but with every album her digital to physical ratio has increased gradually. I think most of 465,000 fans would have already pre-ordered the album.

You had to pre-order Four to get Steal My Girl when it was available first. It's clear that 1D's team is focusing on album sales more so we'll see how that turns out. 1989 has been doing well on iTunes too despite many of new releases pushing it down then it climbing back every week.

I think between 2 and 3 weeks ago. The album´s main version was #1 and the second version was #5 when it was first made available. So they should have high preorders. Although we dont know how many copies each one of them sold while at #1, so everything is possible. Hoping Taylor breaks that record
