Yall didn't read the articles when Spotify wasn't as big and some small artists would get like 1 cent after 1,000 streams?
Streaming payout is increasing crazy though. In Q4 of 2014 I believe amount of streams were up almost doubled and amount paid per streat was up 33% comparative to Q1 2013.
Something like that. 1 of those is prob off.
I can only think of Spotify losing money in the beginning by getting major labels to upload their millions of songs to kick it off.
ok whatever obviously I was referring to US iTunes like 25 minutes ago when AnaconDONT was #19 and Black Widow #15. drag anyway with all those receipts I didn't ask for.
Why are all the Gaga stans Iggy fans now?
reminds me of when all the Monsters had *Azealia Banks - Lady Gaga* in their sigs in 2012

Wasn't there a time when all the Monsters had *Lana Del Rey - Lady Gaga* in their sigs and then they left Lady and became full time Lana stans (is there a name for Lana's stans)?
I'm gonna miss CDs but nowadays I don't even bother ripping them when downloading a quality rip is way faster
Buying CDs is charity nowdays akin to donating to an artist's Paypal account (except they receive little of the money but you help them retain their recording contract)
Streaming is so bad for indie and lesser known bands tho.
It's the opposite. If it wasn't for streaming, indie and lesser known bands would barely even exist
anymore today. Tumblr artist Lana Del Rey needed the streaming to be exposed to the world.
Their entire stanning history as people resolved around hopping on a bandwagon. What do you expect?
We good, we good

...Vin
Lana is not indie. Isn't she signed to Interscope, a major label? Well, in her case, she will be going indie soon (and likely for the better considering Ultraviolence has been her greatest work so far).
